Preliminary Design Project cost estimating
With AMD we will review the overall project with the client and project Architect and communicate with the client one-on-one to establish the overall goal of their foodservice needs. We will provide a preliminary floor plan for the overall kitchen design to establish a cohesive flow of food product from delivery, storage, cooking and serving. We will also provide a detailed cost estimate of the overall kitchen equipment package for the client and project Architect.
SCHEMATIC DESIGN
AMD will review the information furnished by the client to ascertain the requirements of the project, prepare rough design for approval by owner derived from a general description of the project. We will also review the budgeted amount of the project with the client and/or architect and establish a preliminary project construction cost subject to later revision.
Design Development
AMD will prepare floor plans including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and/or requirements for other divisions to determine their scope; prepare outline specifications to illustrate the size and character of the project.
Construction drawings
After design approval, with the client, we will prepare all necessary documents, including working drawings and specifications setting forth in detail the work to be done. Documents will specify materials, workmanship, finishes and required foodservice equipment to be used on the project. In addition to the above plans, we will include electrical and plumbing points of connection requirements only.
Health department / review
AMD will assist the owner in applying for and obtaining required approvals from the Health Department, including any revisions required to re-submit in order to receive final approval.
building construction permit
AMD will review all comments produced by the local building departments, DSA or OSHPD and provide timely review responses, including online project responses.
Construction Administration
AMD will review all submittal drawings and equipment brochure booklets prepared by the kitchen equipment contractor for compliance with the design and specifications, as well as on-sight review during construction to avoid last minute issues that will prevent on-time project closure.
Project Closeout
AMD will perform a site inspection and prepare a punch-list of any deficiencies for correction prior to final acceptance of the project by the owner. The punch-list will include specific corrections required, including any pictures that will necessitate easier understanding of all corrections.
Final completion
With AMD’s extensive experience of the overall design/construction process from project inception to ribbon cutting, we will oversee every aspect of the project for a successful execution.
